Today is part2 of our Game Revival Guide, in which we highlight games we loved, yet seemed to have been forgotten. If you missed part1 (you crazy fools!) you can check it out here.
Now, onward with part2!
Rocket: Robot On Wheels
Back in 1999 there was no shortage of platformers (much like today and FPS's...), but many got over looked. Rocket: Robot on Wheels was fell into the latter. Although it was up there with the best, many overlooked the game due to it not having a Mario face, and to a degree you could understand; after Mario 64, many tried to better it, but to no avail. Rocket, however, was a worthy contender to the crown.
Rockets world is a giant theme park and zoo, and after being struck with a mallet by a Rackoon, JoJo (one of the parks mascots you're actually looking after) you embark your mission. The story is simple, JoJo intends to ruin the parks opening day and change the park to JoJo World, stealing a teleporter as well as the parks other mascot, Whoopie the Walrus. So as Rocket, its up to you to save Whoopie and stop JoJo.
The game looked pretty awesome, with lots of vibrant colours, and the actual game physics were very advanced for the time and control wise, Rocket handled well, and could upgrade to learn new moves and techniques, as well as driving the levels various vehicles. As the N64 reached it's final stages, many people didn't even bother with Rocket, so many might not even remember the name, but it really was a great little title.
