Super Human Strength Let's You Pick Up Water Bottles

You've all heard of HAL, right? Y'know, HAL; the "Hybrid Assistive Limb" robotic arm.

Oh, 'that' HAL! Yeah, yeah, we know him/it! Obviously that was everyone's answer, but really, what is HAL?

HAL is a prototype arm -- a slightly smaller variant of the one installed on Cyberdyne (What, you don't know what Cyberdyne is? You know, a cybernetic bodysuit that inflates the ego, boosts your strength and is a massive hit with the ladies -- see pic below).

Well, the folks over at Engadget were given a little "hands on" time with HAL, and as you can see from the video -- it's impressive stuff. Using HAL's main part, which was strapped to the outer side of their upper arm with velcro, while their wrist was tied to the much smaller extendable piece; both parts were hinged together with a power unit. Additionally, a sensory pad was applied to their forearm's medial cutaneous nerve (around the elbow area) to pick up our muscular nerve signal.

Basically, HAL made picking up 1.5kg water bottles so easy, they could do it with just their pinky.

Hell-to-the-yeah. Embedded video below.
